On August 15, 2024 Shanghai-Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) was released, and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications ranked 458 globally, up 49 places compared with 2023, maintaining the trend of steady improvement.
Shanghai-Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is based on the number of alumni and faculty members who have won Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of highly cited scientists, the number of papers published in Nature and Science, the number of papers indexed in the Web of Science Science Citation Index (SCIE) and the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), and the average academic performance of faculty members. The ranking is based on the overall score of the universities. Each year, more than 2,500 global universities are ranked, and 1,000 of the world's leading research universities are released. According to statistics, a total of 91 universities in Mainland China entered the ARWU Top 500 in 2024, among them, NJUPT ranking 75th-91st, which is the best performance in the past five years.
