NJUPT establishes School of Social Work

  In order to further implement the strategic tasks of the Party and the State on promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, building a grand social work talent team, and actively responding to the major decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee to form the Ministry of Social Work, NJUPT formally set up the School of Social Work, which is the first one in the national colleges and universities after the formation of the Central Ministry of Social Work.

NJUPT establishes School of Social Work

  School of Social Work of NJUPT is dedicated to cultivating high-quality talents, conducting high-level scientific research, and providing advanced social services in the field of social work. NJUPT currently offers an undergraduate program in social work and a Master of Social Work (MSW) professional degree program. Established in 1998, the social work program is one of the earliest undergraduate programs in social work in China. In 2020, it was approved as a National First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Site. In 2023, it was ranked 25th nationwide and 2nd in Jiangsu Province by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy.

  Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and rooted in Marxism with Chinese characteristics and modernization , the School of Social Work will fully leverage disciplinary strengths in social work, population studies, public administration, and information intersections. NJUPT aims to closely align with the construction of the academic, theoretical, and discourse systems of social work in the new era. It will steadfastly explore and continuously exert efforts in the construction of the social work discipline, talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, and exchange cooperation. By doing so, it strives to enhance the overall effectiveness of social work and contribute to the high-quality development of the social work field.
