Newly Authorized Doctoral Programs for NJUPT

　　Recently, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council released an addition of doctoral and master’s degree programs reviewed and added in 2020 and the list of degree programs of first-class disciplines in integrated circuit science and engineering. Our university added five first-class disciplines (mathematics, physics, control science and engineering, cyberspace security and integrated circuit science and engineering) and one doctoral degree program (electronic information). Integrated circuit science and engineering is one of the two new interdisciplinary disciplines set up by the state this year, and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications has become one of the first batch of 18 universities approved.

　　In this round of degree program audit, NJUPT has fulfilled the zero breakthrough in science, interdisciplinary and doctoral degree authorization, and the layout and level of degree authorization have reached a new level. Our university will have 8 doctoral degree programs of first-class disciplines, 1 doctoral professional degree program, 23 master’s degree programs of first-class disciplines and 12 master’s professional degree programs, covering 8 disciplines of economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering, management and interdisciplinary subjects.

　　In recent years, guided by the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, NJUPT vigorously promoted the constructions of the “Double First-Class” project and high-level universities in Jiangsu Province. The discipline construction of our university actively served the national major strategic needs, focused on the core technologies in key fields and strangled problems, and adhered to the characteristics of electronic information discipline. Guided by the construction of first-class disciplines, our university consolidated and strengthened the advantages of peak disciplines, rapidly enhanced the strength of plateau disciplines and professional degrees, boosted the construction of highland disciplines, actively cultivated new growth points in accordance with the ideas of “climbing peak, lifting plateau, supporting highland, assisting new and developing leading edge”. NJUPT focused on laying out frontier interdisciplinary disciplines and established an excellent and powerful “five-sphere integrated plan” (information materials, devices, systems, networks and applications) big information discipline system.

　　Guided by the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, NJUPT will always adhere to the socialist orientation in running schools and implement the educational lines, principles and policies of the Communist Party of China. Our university will gather a group of strategic scientists, first-class scientific and technological leading talents and innovation teams, at the same time, cultivate top-ranking meritocrats with NJUPT characteristics, national feelings and international versions. In order to achieve the Two Centenary Goals and realize Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, also for the Jiangsu province can “set an example, be the demonstration and take the lead”, NJUPT will contribute its own strength, comprehensively start a new journey in the construction of research universities, and strive to build a high-level university with distinctive characteristics in the field of electronic information.
