In the morning of October 16, the Consul General of the United States Consulate General in Shanghai, Mr. Hanscom Smith paid a visit to our university with other four people in his team. The president of NJUPT, Yang Zhen met with them. The Vice President Zhang Zhihua, and heads of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, and heads of the School of Overseas Education attended the meeting.
President Yang warmly welcomed Mr. Hanscom Smith and his team, and briefly introduced the general situation of NJUPT, thanked United States Consulate General in Shanghai for their support they have given to NJUPT in the cooperation with the New York Institute of Technology, and expressed our further hope for deeper cooperation in areas such as exchanges between Chinese and American students. Mr. Hanscom Smith expressed gratitude for the hospitality of our university, attached great importance to our joint program with the New York Institute of Technology and hoped the two sides keep communication and strengthen the exchange between Chinese and American students.
Then, the two sides introduced information and exchanged ideas based on related affairs.
